Mini Prints are a signed, open edition printed on archival paper. *Limited Edition Giclees are available in Medium on a archival paper (shipped flat) and in Large and Extra Large on canvas (shipped rolled). (*500 print edition in each size, plus 50 artist’s proofs and 50 printer’s proofs)Our beloved Nohea Amaral Kahiliwai, daughter, wife, mother and dancer, passed away suddenly from cancer. We have eaten many times up at her beautiful home in Koloko, surrounded by the forest and listening to the bird calls. It is so high up the mountain that even my Kamuela hardened body shivers with the cold! We saw, first-hand, her dedication to her husband, little son, mother-in-law. Her ready smile lightened every ones heart.
My husband and I traveled with her to Japan, several times and were able to witness, first- hand, her dedication to her craft. She was a remarkable dancer. If the hula was about a bird, she became the bird. If it was about the mist, she became the mist. If it was about a lover, she became that lover. Never once, under what was often grueling circumstances, did I hear her complain or not do whatever was asked of her, with a willing heart. She was truly a daughter of this land and lived Aloha.
We miss you, sweet Nohea.
